Today is the Day

My own experience has taught me this:  it you wait for the perfect moment when all is safe and assured it may never arrive.  Mountains will not be climbed, races won, or lasting happiness achieved.”  – Maurice Chevalier (1888-1972)

This hangs above my desk – a scrap of a quote cut out from…I don’t remember where.  I must have gotten used to it being there because I just noticed it today and re-read it.

It’s like reading it for the first time – a timely reminder for today.

I can’t wait for the finances to stabilize, the house to be in order, the weight to be lost, or anything else for that matter.

Today is the day to start, or at least to start making definitive plans for what I need and want.

The daily list is helping out immensely.

Today is the day to start a  “longer term goal”  list.  Working out the details of my daily life is a good thing.  But, I need to set out a concrete plan/list of what I’m working towards…where I want to be next month, year, or 5 years from now.

Today – tomorrow…

“Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?” – Mary Oliver
